Recently a land developer has proposed to build 450 houses on Highfields Road, Hammerwich (proposal available here). This development would represent a significant change for our parish and surrounding area.

Hammerwich Parish Council wants to ensure that the views of Hammerwich residents are heard clearly and fairly, so is inviting all residents to take part in this community survey.

Purpose of the Survey

The survey seeks to gather residents’ opinions on key aspects of the proposed development, including:

• The impact of building on greenbelt land
• Local infrastructure capacity (traffic, healthcare, and schools)
• Environmental and flooding concerns
• Property types and housing mix
• Potential benefits such as improved infrastructure, affordable homes, and community facilities

Residents will also be asked to express their overall level of support or objection to the development and to prioritise their key concerns and hopes for the area.

Your feedback will help the Parish Council:

• Represent the collective views of Hammerwich parishioners in planning discussions
• Identify the main priorities and expectations of local residents
• Ensure any future developments remain appropriate, sustainable, and beneficial for our community
